Pookode lake is a picnic spot on the Calicut-Mysore-Kollegal National Highway, 45 kms away from NIT, near Lakkidi (the entry point to Wyanad district).
The lake is surrounded by forests, and boating is allowed. Recent commercial modernisations have removed some of its wilderness charms.
